Rev. Gaddy spoke with Keith about religion’s role in public policy, and specifically about the Catholic Church’s self-assigned role in the current health care debate.
He made clear that it is Congress’ responsibility to legislate on behalf of the entire nation, not one belief system’s point of view. And he expressed concern that the Catholic Church seems prepared to walk away from the important work it does providing social services to the homeless in Washington, DC if it does not get its way on a local same-gender marriage bill.
