In 2009, the Affiliate has worked to pass domestic partner benefits for state employees and helped pass legislation to create designated beneficiary agreements, which allow any two unmarried adults in Colorado to name each other as their beneficiaries for end of life care, inheritance and more. They have been working to stop a proposed amendment to recognize every fetus as a person and extend constitutional protections from the moment of conception. All of these measure deal directly with religious liberty, personal privacy and personal freedom.

One of the core programs of Interfaith Alliance of Colorado is to promote understanding of Colorado’s diverse faith traditions. The affiliate holds quarterly interfaith dialogues, led by different faith leaders. In November, they will host a dialogue at the Zen Center of Denver. And, in public policy education, the Colorado Affiliate holds public policy forums on such areas as election law and current issues before the legislature.

Leading Interfaith Alliance of Colorado are Board President and Canon Steward Gregory Movesian, and Executive Director Jeremy Shaver, with strong support from a very active Board of Directors and volunteers.
