Interfaith Alliance Joins Civil Rights Partners in Condemning Antisemitic Attacks

June 6, 2025

Interfaith Alliance is proud to join The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and a broad coalition of civil rights organizations in signing a joint statement responding to the recent rise in antisemitic violence. The letter calls on the Department of Justice to take urgent action to protect communities targeted by hate. As an organization rooted in the protection of religious freedom and the pursuit of justice for people of all faiths and none, we are proud to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and to oppose the growing rise in hate that threatens us all.

Two devastating attacks in recent weeks, one at a Jewish museum in Washington DC that claimed the lives of a young couple, and another in Boulder Colorado that injured 12 people during a peaceful demonstration, have brought national attention to a disturbing trend. These are not isolated events. They reflect a broader pattern of antisemitism that is growing and becoming more violent. This crisis demands a strong and united response.

As the letter states:

“We must reiterate that the targeting of Jews because of the actions of the Israeli government, or because of their real or perceived relationship with Israel, is antisemitic. And it is unacceptable. There is an urgent need for more resources at the national, state and local level for prevention, for protection, and for cross-community and multi-faith responses.”

Interfaith Alliance remains deeply committed to confronting antisemitism and all forms of religious bigotry. The safety of the Jewish community is inseparable from the safety of all communities. When one group is targeted, it places everyone at greater risk. Whether the target is Jewish, Muslim, Arab American, LGBTQ+, disabled, Black, or Latino, hate harms us all and undermines the promise of a just and inclusive society.

Together we commit to building a country where every person can live with dignity, safety, and freedom of belief. We are proud to stand with our partners in this work and to speak out against hate in all its forms.

No ICE in the Cup

The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The call to faith communities in the host cities and across the United States is to use this as an opportunity to preach and teach about the cruelty of ICE and the broader authoritarian threat at this moment.
