Join an affiliateInterfaith Alliance affiliates have been at the heart of our work since our founding in 1994. From Hawai’i to Florida, local affiliates bring together clergy, lay leaders, and advocates of all faiths and beliefs to advance inclusive democracy and true religious freedom in their communities.
Working in close collaboration with our national office in Washington, D.C., affiliates lead public education efforts, organize grassroots campaigns, and respond to local and state policy threats.
Whether testifying at school board meetings, marching in pride parades, or mobilizing around national days of action, our affiliates serve as a moral force for good in public life.
New affiliates are forming every year—join us in shaping a future where every person is free to believe as they choose and live free from discrimination.
Together, we can make a significant impact in this pivotal moment in our nation's history.
Curious about what it means to be part of the Interfaith Alliance affiliate network? Here you’ll find answers to common questions about how affiliates operate, what support they receive, and how you can get involved.
It varies. Some affiliates host monthly meetings and ongoing campaigns; others mobilize around key moments in the calendar year. Whether you're leading the charge or supporting from the sidelines, there's a place for you in our network.
An affiliate is a local or state-based group aligned with Interfaith Alliance’s mission to champion religious freedom, protect democracy, and build inclusive communities. Affiliates bring together people of diverse faiths and beliefs to organize, educate, and advocate for justice.
Affiliates lead grassroots efforts tailored to their local context—organizing public events, advocating on state and local policy, countering extremism, and building bridges across religious and civic lines. They also participate in national campaigns coordinated by our Washington, D.C. office.
Our national team provides affiliates with strategic guidance, communications tools, organizing resources, grant opportunities, and access to a growing community of peers. Affiliates also receive digital support like action alerts, geotargeted emails, and bill tracking tools.
Not at all. While clergy are a key part of our movement, we welcome lay leaders, community organizers, students, and anyone committed to advancing justice and religious freedom.
We’d love to connect! Just fill out our interest form and a member of our organizing team will reach out to help you take the next step—whether that’s forming a core team, identifying local issues, or planning your first event.
We're here to help!

At the heart of our democracy is the belief that individuals should be free to make decisions guided by their own conscience, values, and beliefs, especially when it comes to their health care. The growing efforts to restrict access to reproductive health care under the guise of religious or political authority is deeply concerning and recent legal challenges across the country threaten not only access to care but also the foundational principle that no single religious tradition should determine public policy for everyone.
