New Trump Campaign Video “Egregious” Misuse of Religion, Says National Interfaith Organization

January 5, 2024

Interfaith Alliance, a national organization that advocates for inclusive democracy and healthy boundaries between religion and government, responded to a new video from the Trump campaign using messianic language claiming Donald Trump was sent by God to heal America.

In a statement, Darcy Hirsh, Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy, Interfaith Alliance, said:
"The video released by the Trump campaign today is one of the most egregious examples of the misuse of religion we have seen by a candidate for office. We call on the Trump campaign to take it down immediately. As someone who hopes to once again be president of the United States, we would remind President Trump that his responsibility as president would be to protect everyone’s religious freedom, not to use religion to advance his own political agenda.”
