Iman Shehadeh

Iman Shehadeh is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she is pursuing a Bachelor's in Public Policy. She is passionate about advocacy and civic engagement, with a strong interest in how policy can address systemic inequities and expand access to justice. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Iman co-founded The Rights Project, a youth-led initiative that creates workshops on legal rights and access to justice for marginalized communities, and she hopes to lead similar efforts in Washington, DC. Her past experiences include research with organizations focused on refugee health and climate-induced displacement, and she is passionate about civic engagement, coalition building, and advancing civil rights. She plans to pursue law school as the next step in continuing this work and driving meaningful policy change. Outside of academics, Iman enjoys films, photography, and following her favorite sports teams.
