This year, Faith for Pride is back.
As hate becomes more vocal, visible, and violent, Faith for Pride is placing a critical new emphasis on the unique, important role that faith communities can play in defending LGBTQ+ communities and Pride celebrations from anti-LGBTQ+ hate and extremism. This Pride month, equip yourself to show up as a force for de-escalation, solidarity, and reporting of violent extremism. Are you a member of an organization or congregation? Become equipped to
de-escalate and report anti-LGBTQ+ hate.
Pride is a celebration of diversity inherent to the LGBTQ+ community. As our community grows and flourishes, extremism and hate also become more vocal, visible, and violent. We have seen the uptick of hate targeting LGBTQ+ people throughout the year, and we know that extremist groups intend to target, disrupt, and intimidate Pride events this June. That’s why this year Faith for Pride is placing a critical new emphasis on the unique, important role that faith communities can play in defending LGBTQ+ communities and Pride celebrations from anti-LGBTQ+ hate and extremism.
Faith for Pride will empower faith communities to organize against anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and intimidation during Pride events. We are planning a nationwide deployment of people from diverse religions and beliefs to be trained in identifying hate, de-escalation, and research and reporting to protect against threats to Pride celebrations across the country. Learn more about different ways to get involved.

Take the Faith for Pride Training
At Pride celebrations, community events, and demonstrations, faith communities and people of faith and conscience have a unique role to play in contributing to the safety and dignity of our LGBTQ+ neighbors and community members. In partnership with Parity, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), Keshet, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, and the United Religions Initiative, we hosted an interactive de-escalation training.
You can take the training on your own schedule to learn critical de-escalation skills and equip yourself to use the Southern Poverty Law Center’s reporting tool. You can be a force of de-escalation and solidarity by engaging with us as a volunteer.
